DEFINITION

It is a type of open-end mutual fund that invests in equity, debt securities or money market instruments in accordance to the principles of Islamic law; in order to maintain capital values and obtain an income level which continuously increases in medium to long term. However, this type of mutual fund follows the nature and investment objective of the other four type of mutual funds, each respectively(money market fund, fixed income fund, balanced fund, equity fund). For example, Islamic Equity Fund is basically an equity fund running under the principles of Islamic teaching.

INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE

Obtaining competitive investment returns with a focus on growing investment principal in mid-to-long term time horizon. For achieving this investment objective, the fund will invest in Indonesia’s stocks, government and/or corporate bonds, and money market instruments allowable by Islamic shariah laws. In this case, equity asset class will receive the largest investment allocation.
